Nasal Plug 5 is a compact omnidirectional guide microphone that connects directly to an XLR input.
By connecting it to cinema cameras, broadcast cameras, PTZ cameras, and other systems without built-in microphones, it is ideal for situations where synchronization via timecode is not possible, or when spoken cues and voice instructions need to be recorded directly into the audio track.
While a microphone connection is required, Nasal Plug 5 is designed for use cases where audio quality is not critical as long as sound is present. It prioritizes extreme compactness and minimal setup, eliminating unnecessary cabling. Simply plug it directly into the camera’s XLR terminal to operate—no mount and no cables are required.
Its omnidirectional pickup pattern enables reliable 360-degree sound capture, even on broadcast cameras where XLR connectors are oriented sideways or rear-facing. Nasal Plug 5 operates on standard P48 phantom power.
For 5-pin XLR input, the signal is routed to the left channel (Lch).
